At VLAIO (Flemish Agency for Innovation and Entrepreneurship), subsidies are available to support companies with ICT and technology-related development projects.
The most well-known subsidy is the SME portfolio. This allows you to save up to 30% on certain training and advice, including for websites. This subsidy is for SMEs in Flanders and can only be used from certified SME portfolio service providers, such as NYBE.
In addition, the Flemish government also has a subsidy for international business, namely the “Subsidy for digital international commercial business communication” from Flanders Investment & Trade. This is intended for the external development and translation of digital international commercial business communication.

Having a professional website built takes place in phases. The first phase concerns the strategy behind the website. With service providers under the SME portfolio, it is possible to complete this first phase as part of a consultation process. This allows for extensive consideration of the psychology and strategic advice behind the website before it is simply built. This gives you a concrete idea of how the website should function, what goals you want to achieve with the website, and what the website might look like visually.
NYBE is a certified service provider under the SME portfolio, so it is possible to receive a subsidy of up to 30% for this first phase. Specifically, this means that SMEs can receive a subsidy of up to €7,500 per year. For medium-sized enterprises, this means a percentage of 20%, also with a support ceiling of €7,500 per year.

The second phase of a website is the actual construction. Do you wish to translate the website because you also want to do business abroad? Then you can apply for the Internationalization Starter Package from FIT (Flanders Investment and Trade). Companies that meet the conditions can apply for this. The subsidy amount is a one-time payment of €9,000.
To qualify for this subsidy, it is required to draw up a substantiated and concrete business plan and export plan. At NYBE, we can put you in touch with experts who can take this off your hands. To be eligible, you can participate in one of the calls for proposals. Keep a close eye on the VLAIO website for this (search for Starterpakket internationalisering).
